The Journey of death: running again back from Lebanon
Left With Nothing But Hope — 4,000 Families Need You

Your Support Can Mean Warmth, Nourishment, and a Chance at Survival

In shadows cast by a shattered land,

They walk with faith and trembling hands.

Through valleys torn, their children cry,

With hope the only light nearby.

Each day, thousands of families escape the devastation in Lebanon, carrying only their hope through unimaginable hardship.

Parents watch helplessly as their children weaken from hunger, illness, and exhaustion along the journey.

These 4,000 families arrive in conflict-ridden lands with nothing but the clothes on their backs, seeking safety and a life beyond mere survival.

Yet, without shelter, food, or medical care, their struggle endures.

This is why the Takaful Al-Sham Foundation is on a mission to ensure survival for at least 4000 families until next year.

Starting Over from Nothing

“We escaped the Israeli bombardment of Tyre in Lebanon, and we received the Russian bombing in Idlib.”

Like many, Suleiman Fares fled Israeli bombings in Lebanon only to face Russian airstrikes in Idlib. And Abdul Aziz al-Khatib, carrying only a bag of clothes and important papers, left his entire life in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley to protect his family from constant bombardments.

Battle on Foot

Fleeing on foot, often without access to basic necessities, they travel mile after mile, driven only by the hope of finding safety.

Exhausted parents carry their children over rugged terrain, while others struggle just to stay on their feet, weakened from hunger and dehydration. For these families, every step brings new dangers.

As temperatures drop, the threat of winter looms large. Young children collapse along the way, fainting from sheer exhaustion and lack of food.

With nowhere else to go, they sleep in the open under freezing skies, vulnerable to illness and exposure.

Mothers and fathers begin each day with nothing, forced to leave behind any belongings that could slow their escape.

They shield their children from the harsh realities, yet struggle to provide even the most basic needs, such as clean water or a piece of bread.

For them, survival is an endless cycle of starting from scratch, with every new day bringing the same heartbreaking question:

How can I keep my children alive?

Your support can be the difference between life and death for these vulnerable children.

Our Goal: Support 4,000 Families Through the Winter

Together with Takaful Al-Sham Foundation, we are raising funds to provide these refugee families with essentials to help them survive the coming months. Every donation goes toward life-saving resources, including:

About Us

Takaful Al Sham was founded in 2012 by 5 groups of friends and volunteers who were interested in humanitarian work in response to the crisis that struck at that time. This crisis ultimately resulted in the tragedy of millions who have been severely affected in an unprecedented manner. Millions of children have suffered from violence, displacement and ignorance since and this leads to a dark future for the coming generation.
